Craig Webb

cwebb

Postdoctoral researcher

Craig has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Bath, and an MSc in Acoustics from the University of Edinburgh. This was followed by a PhD, supervised by Dr Stefan Bilbao and Dr Alan Gray. Craig has worked with high performance computing architectures to accelerate the calculation of large-scale room acoustics simulations using time-stepping finite difference schemes. After a postdoc at the University of Oxford, he began researching real-time physical modelling plugins, exploring the possibilities for instrument systems running on consumer processors. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the NESS project, and is starting a new company, Physical Audio, which will be dedicated to releasing real-time plugins based on NESS project work.
